Berlon Jacob Brown, 72, died Friday, January 28, at his home in the Vale Community. Private services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 30, at the New. Hope Cemetery near Vale. Bruceton Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Brown, the son of the late Willie Aden and Laura Turner Brown, was born October 16,1927 t in Vale. He was a retired chief clerk for CSX Railroad, and an Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Melba Rogers Brown; a son - Matthew Brown of Bruceton; and sister, Lunete Brown of Paris

Mrs. Peggy Ann Cobb, 83 of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hebron Cemetery. Rev. Jim Cooper and Rev. Dossie Wheatley will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Oakwood room of chase Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:30PM until 9:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church in Huntingdon.

Mrs. Cobb was born May 19, 1926, in Hollow Rock, Tennessee to the late Sid Thomas and Ethel (Walker) Thomas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Huntingdon and a retired seamstress for Publix Shirt Factory in Huntingdon. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Cobb, three brothers, James Thomas, Mac Thomas, and Earl Thomas, three sisters, Lorene Hill, Birdie Wright Perry, and Mary Campbell.

She is survived by two sons, Mike Cobb (wife Dana) of and Clarksburg, Jerry Cobb (wife Debra) of Huntingdon, three grandchildren, Brittany Foster (husband Colin) of Huntingdon, Ryan Cobb of Clarksburg, and Chelsey Cobb of Huntingdon, two great grandchildren, Justin Beal of Bruceton and Bryar Foster of Huntingdon. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Eldon Nolen of Hollow Rock.

Mrs. Blount, a retired personel secretary for Norondal, Inc., died Thursday at Life Care Center of Bruceton of heart disease. She was married to James W. Blount. Her sister is Mary Ellen Woodward of Buena Vista.
