Alma Mater

CHS Alma Mater

On a hill above the railroad
'Neath a Southern sky
Gloriously our Alma Mater
From the Hills and valleys round us
Waves her banner high
Sounds the glad refrain
Of our honored sons and daughters
Who revere thy name

CHORUS:
Onward, then shall be our motto
For we cannot fail;
Hail to thee, our Alma Mater,
Central High - - All Hail!

Betty Love Funderburk - Miss Central High School

Betty although only a sophomore, has already made a most enviable record at Central. Honors have been heaped upon her, and yet she has remained the same sweet, lovable girl. With all her extrra curricular activities, she has made the honor roll each time. In both years of her high school career she has been chosen as the most beautiful girl in her class. In this year's Who's Who, she was also named the Friendliest Girl in C. H. S. She is this year's Football Maid of Honor, and she has been a cheer leader both years. No wonder then she was chosen Miss Central High School.

Billy Bargatze - Mr. Central High School

"Bargo", as he is generally known, has been a popular student at C. H. S., where he has been a campus leader for four years. He has held various class offices and has appeared in all the Who's Who selections each year. Having reported for football practice in the eighth grade, he has been a member of all teams since. This year he served as Captain of the Tigers. He was a natural choice of the students for the honor of the most representative symbolized in the title Mr. Central High School
