PARIS: Services for Charlotte Ann Spencer, 61, formerly of Bruceton, were at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 7 at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiating. Burial was in New Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock. Mrs. Spencer, a cashier at Paris Wal-Mart, died Saturday, December 4 at her home. She was born June 25, 1943 in Memphis to the late James Otis Cawthon and Mary Dorcas Bennett Cawthon. Survivors include a daughter, Holly Spencer of Camden; a son, William “Bubba” Spencer of Bolivar; a sister, Carol Bethshears of Bruceton and two grandchildren. Funeral services for Charlotte Ann Spencer, age 61, of Paris, Tenn., formerly of Bruceton, Tenn., were held Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Williams, Chris Higdon, Scot Berry and Jamie H. Williams. Ms. Spencer passed away Saturday, December 4, at her home in Paris. She was born on June 25, 1943 in Memphis, Tenn., to the late James Otis Cawthon and Mary Dorcas Bennet Cawthon. She was a cashier. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Cawthon. William was born September 24, 1943 in Camden, TN He was preceded by his father William Lee Darden, Sr. and His mother Charlene Hilliard Darden.
He is survived by his wife, Dian Dodd Darden of Camden; William L. Darden, III, (Tara) of Holladay and two grandchildren

BRUCETON: Daniel “Danny” Maurice Devault, 68, died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at his home. Funeral services were Sunday, January 8, at 2 p.m. at Bruceton First Baptist Church with Bro. James Daniel and Bro. Sonny Robinson officiating. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery near Yuma.
Mr. Devault was born October 26, 1943 in Hollow Rock to the late Wade Maurice Devault and Virginia Lee Williams Devault. He was an engineer for TVA and member of Bruceton First Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Sherman Devault and Mark Devault.
Survivors include: his wife, Sandra McLeod Devault of Bruceton; two sons, Darrin (Cheri) Devault of Townsend, Tennessee and Michael (Rebeccah) Devault of Marietta, Georgia, and one grandson.
Bruceton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

HOLLOW ROCK: Mary Francis Glosson Taylor Duncan, 67, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. Funeral services were Sunday, May 29, at 2 p.m. at Bruceton Funeral Home with Bro. James S. Daniel officiating. Burial followed in Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mrs. Duncan was born August 24, 1943 in Carroll County to the late Alvis Dossis Glosson and Verdie Irene Taylor Glosson. She was a retired nurse from Asheboro Hospital in North Carolina.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Richard Duncan; one son, Robert Donald Taylor; three sisters, June Chapman, Beatrice Underwood and Opal Thompson; and three brothers, John Alvis Glosson, Nolan Glosson and Charles Glosson.
Survivors include: one daughter, Vickie Dee (David) Kummberfeldt of Campbell, California; two sons, Daniel Brent Taylor of Hawaii and Robert Earl Taylor, Jr.; four sisters, Shirley Glosson of Kingston Spring, Shelba Herring of Arkansas, Chessie Wardlaw of Camden, and Lou Ellen Holley of Bruceton; one brother, Jerry Glosson of Hollow Rock; and nine grandchildren. Neil Ray Haynes, 68, of Savannah, former administrator at Hardin County School System, died September 14 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services were September 16 at East End United Methodist Church in Savannah with Rev. Richard Wesley and Pastor Mary Foote officiating. Pallbearers were Kevin Davis, Bob Adkinsson, Tony Fondren, Donnie Burrow, Keith Namishia and Bob Shutt. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery, Milan, with Dr. Michael McAdoo closing the ceremony with prayer. Bodkin Funeral Home had charge.
Mr. Haynes was a member of East End United Methodist Church, Savannah, where he served as Finance Chairman, member of the Administrative Council and choir member. He belonged to the TSSAA and coached football at Milan, Huntingdon and Savannah Middle School. He also served a dual role as superintendent/ principal in Atwood from 1969-1970. He began his college career at the University of Memphis, played football at Murray State University on a scholarship and was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He received his Masters at UTK in 1969 and attained 45 hours toward his Doctorate.
Mr. Haynes, the husband of Judy Creswell Haynes, also leaves a son, Neil Scott Haynes and wife Shawna of Bells; a brother, Johnny W. Haynes (Betty) of Hollow Rock; a sister, Nancy Haynes Robinson (Hal) of Maryville; two grandchildren, Alexander Hunter Haynes of Savannah and Jocelyn Evie Nicole Haynes of Bells; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be directed to the East End United Methodist Church, 104 Fairground Street, Savannah, TN 38372.

JAMES LARRY MITCHELL 1943 - 1998 James Larry Mitchell, 55, of Nashville, died Sunday, November 1, after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his father, John G. (Jack) Mitchell, of Bruceton, in 1980. Requiem mass for Larry was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christ, the King Catholic Church, by Bishop James Niedergesses and Rev. Stephen Kenny. Internment was at Calvary Cemetery in Nashville. Marshall Donnelly Combs was in charge of the arrangements. He was born in Nashville, September 11, 1943, graduated from Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School Class of 1961. He received his B.S. degree in 1964 and his Master in Math in 1965, from George Peabody College. He began his career in Nashville as a teacher In math at Eat High, Montgomery Bell Academy and U.T. Nashville. In 1969, he joined IBM, where he stayed until his death. Larry is survived by his wife, Mary Evelyn Beuerlein, who he married in 1965, in Lawrenceburg; a son, Mark Mitchell, and his wife, Amy, of Nashville; a daughter, Elizabeth Mitchell of Nashville; his Mother, Pauline (Polly) Wherry Mitchell of Bruceton; a brother, john G. (Jack) Mitchell, Jr. of Knoxville; two sisters, Theresa Pollock of North Canton, Ohio, aid Cecilia Nye of Knoxville; a niece, Meredith M. Lidster of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; two nephews, Rob and Ben Nye, both of Knoxville; two uncles, Joe Mitchell of Bruceton and Lloyd Wherry of Columbia; three aunts, Margaret Hurt of Martin, Julia Herof Livonia, Michigan, and Bernice Rochelle of Centerville; a host of cousins, in-laws, friends, neighbors and co-workers, who loved him dearly. BILLY FURR WYATT 1943 - 1994 Benton County Sheriff Billy Furr Wyatt 51, died of following a long illness, Wednesday, September 7, 1994 at his residence near Camden. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, September 9th at First Baptist Church in Camden. Jimmy Allison, Gary Greer and Larry Vine officiated. Burial was in the Camden Cemetery with Stockdale Malin in charge of services. A native of Carroll County, Wyatt was born June 4, 1943, a son of Ava Furr Wyatt of Camden and the late Parker Wyatt. He was married to the former Charolette Umstead , who survives. A member of First Baptist Church in Bruceton, he also was a member of the Masonic Lodge. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by two daughters, Amy Roe and Lisa Lockridge of Camden: a brother Edd Wyatt of Florida; and two grandchildren.
